By Laura JohnsonCNNHealthCare and health care professionals are starting to realize they’re at the forefront of an all-out battle against toxins that are being released by many spa and beauty products.
It’s a battle that’s being led by some of the nation’s top spa and body care brands, as well as a number of health experts and experts in the cosmetics industry.
A group of experts and industry experts is pushing for changes that include tighter controls on the chemicals in beauty products and better regulation of cosmetics manufacturing.
They’ve formed the Cosmetic Toxicology Coordinating Committee, which has called on the Food and Drug Administration to require manufacturers of cosmetic and body products to register the chemicals they use in a way that makes it more difficult for companies to illegally manipulate them.
The chemical contaminants have been linked to cancers, birth defects and other health problems in children and adults.
And some have also been linked in some studies to the risk of developing Alzheimer’s and other dementia, according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
“It’s not a new thing,” said Dr. John W. Pescatore, president and CEO of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
“They’ve been around for a long time.”
The new group has formed the American Cosmetic Toxicologist Alliance, which will take a lead role in the FDA’s review of cosmetic products.
Pescatoro said the new group is working with many health and safety experts to develop a common framework for how to manage cosmetics and other substances that could pose health risks to consumers.
“We’re not doing this to protect ourselves.
We’re doing it to protect the public health,” Pescate said.”
You know, we have a lot of people in our industry who are working on behalf of the consumer who are really passionate about it.
But some experts in cosmetic safety are wary of such a push, especially given the recent spike in new and emerging cosmetics-related injuries, including at least two deaths linked to the chemical spill at a spa in Oregon.”
That’s the big issue we have to figure out a way to get to a better place.”
But some experts in cosmetic safety are wary of such a push, especially given the recent spike in new and emerging cosmetics-related injuries, including at least two deaths linked to the chemical spill at a spa in Oregon.
Some of the more well-known companies that make cosmetic products, such as Estée Lauder and Chanel, have recently faced questions from consumer groups and the media about the chemical contamination of their products.
The FDA’s new guidelines on cosmetics manufacturing and the use of chemicals are expected to be released next month.
A spokesperson for the FDA said it is working closely with industry experts and has already met with representatives from several brands, including Estée and Chanellos, and the American Association of Cosmetic Dentists.
A spokesperson for Estée declined to comment.
Chanel also did not respond to a request for comment.
Pascatello said she expects that cosmetics manufacturers will continue to work with the FDA and to get better information.
“What you want to do is not just look at what is safe, but how to improve the safe way to do that,” Pascatella said.
